About Natasha D. James, M.Ed.

Natasha D. James brings over a decade of experience supporting children, adolescents, and families across Chicago’s South and West Sides. Her work is rooted in education, community engagement, and family systems, allowing her to support healing that extends beyond the individual and into families and communities.

With a background spanning education, social work, and leadership roles, Natasha focuses on meeting people where they are, emotionally, culturally, and developmentally. She creates a space that is warm, direct, and supportive, where clients feel safe enough to be honest and challenged enough to grow. Whether working in schools, community settings, or the office, her approach blends compassion with practical strategies that support emotional regulation, resilience, and long-term well-being.

Natasha’s clinical perspective is shaped by her work as an educator, Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) lead, and child welfare specialist. She understands that healing does not happen in isolation and works closely with individuals and families to address systemic challenges, family dynamics, and generational patterns that impact mental health.

Her work at Touch of Wholeness centers on breaking cycles of generational trauma by helping individuals develop emotional awareness, expressive safety, and healthy coping skills. She supports parents in unlearning harmful patterns and building new ways of showing up for themselves and their children, one scholar, one family at a time.

A Word From Natasha D. James

Therapy isn’t about being perfect. It’s about being honest. It’s about showing up even when it feels uncomfortable and trusting that the discomfort means you’re growing. If you’re reading this and wondering whether therapy is for you, let me be clear, if you’re breathing, you’re worthy of support.
